I can’t imagine a wardrobe without black clothes, because I am not ready for all the other colors.
Ever went shopping because you need new clothes and end up buying black clothes ‘again’. Or went to the mall planning to buy other color clothes but you see that cute black crop-top that will go perfect with your black jeans. So, you take that friend who likes “color” to go shopping with you, and ends up buying those colorful clothes just to let them sit in your wardrobe? Because that person is me.
So obviously, I can’t survive without black clothes. When people have a collection of different colors, I have different shades of black. To be fair, black goes with everything and every other color. Like, on the first day of college, want to wear something comfortable that makes you confident? Black is the answer. You don’t have to worry about matching why? Because black goes with everything.
Planning to buy a formal dress that’ll hide your rolls? Black again. Nothing hides your extra fats as good as black does.
You can eat that dirty burger without worrying about staining your clothes. Even if it does stain, it blends and the best part is that it is easy to wash. Another reason to love black, not that I need that extra push to buy more black.
Black looks good on everybody and all skin tones, whether young or old. And the best part is that they never go out of fashion and are relevant every season. Some people might say that black is not healthy for summer and they might be true but I love black more in summer. Why? it covers my sweat because I sweat like a pig and I have the habit of constantly rubbing my nose on my shoulder which stains all my tops. But with black, I can do anything. I don’t have to worry about sitting anywhere, because again easy to wash.
Fashion icons have slayed the red carpet in black clothes throughout history. I mean everyone’s favorite fashion icon Audrey Hepburn and black dresses are just meant for each other. Black clothes go perfectly with all types of accessories, no matter what color they are or what sort of element they are. Also, if you are someone who loves to wear different layers of clothes, you can pull that off with black.
So, the bottom line is that black clothes are my lifestyle and not just a choice of color. Black clothes to me are like bangs to Lisa from Blackpink (you will never see her without her bangs).
You’ll never see me without a pinch of black in me. I don’t mind being called “the girl who always wears black” because from what I have heard from my friends, that’s what strangers call me.
If I am proud of anything in my life, they are my black clothes. I feel so happy when I am wearing something black and people compliment them.
The irony is that sometimes I feel like a certain shade of black makes me look dull even though my friends and family think that they are all the same. If you are someone who wears a lot of black clothes, you know what I am talking about.
